Boat Flooring Options

We have many boat decking and flooring options to suit all our customer budgets, tastes and boat types. Our experience and knowledge in the industry is unrivalled and we are proud to represent the best brands in the market. Why not give us a call to discuss your flooring requirements in more detail.

Synthetic Teak Decking – PVC

Traditional teak decking is an exterior covering of wood (usually teak) to provide a non slip surface to walk on. Decks are made with narrow strips of wood being individually bent to shape, glued and screwed. Our PVC Synthetic Teak boat flooring options replace strips of wood with thin strips of composite PVC material having a remarkable resemblence to natural wood.  On many occasions it has fooled trained shipwrights. All the raw material synthetic teaks are fairly similiar with the deck quality dependent on the experience of the welder/fabricator. We always try and choose the best extrusion based on experience rather than brands. We can give you a quote for a full fit or check out our panel service.

It is worth noting that PVC gets hot in direct sunlight. A new alternative is a cork/rubber decking material which is much cooler to walk on.

“Faux teak” decking

Another method we can adopt to achieve the appearance of a traditional deck is by the use “faux teak”. A sheet of “sandwich” type material is used in conjunction with a cnc machine to cut a pattern out of the top surface. This reveals the sandwich colour below and creates a “faux teak” impression. The two most popular choices of sheet materials are textured surface EVA foam and thermoplastics. The panel sizes are limited by the sheet size dimensions. Call for a supply and fit quote or produce a template and use our panel service.

Boat carpet

Boat flooring options for indoor/outdoor carpet are broken down into woven vinyls and the more traditional cut pile polypropelene velour. Sports boats owners have been turning to woven vinyl as the most practical indoor/outdoor carpet. However for those people who still prefer the more traditional polypropelene cut pile indoor/outdoor carpet have plenty of choice at various price points. Interior cabins are not so exposed and choosing the correct carpet type may not be so critical. We can supply and fit or you can send old carpet or templates and use our panel service. An interesting alternative is “Teak carpet” in cockpit areas – which can have a remarkably similiar appearance to a teak deck, yet be soft and cool to walk on.

Vinyls and laminates

We have variety of teak and holly style marine grade vinyls which can be a cost effective solution to replacing damaged sole floor boards. Simply covering the surface with marine grade vinyl can be a labour saving method of transforming a boats interior appearance. We have a panel service for applying vinyl to existing sole boards. Alternatively we have on offer a rigid base click together laminate system.
